Social inclusion is another excellent benefit of walking.  In Inverclyde there are organised walks almost every day.  Below are the daily health walks


Monday Health Walk 1-2pm (from Clyde Square, Greenock)

This walk takes place every Monday afternoon. Walkers meet outside the Your Voice Office,12 Clyde Square from 12.45pm. Walk begins at 1pm and ends at 2pm. A gentle walk of 1 hour (can be shorter for those who require a shorter walk/gentler pace). Led by our trained volunteer Walk Leaders.  Health Walks are inclusive, relaxed walks. Open to all and designed to help you stay active.  

After the walk at 2pm, everyone is welcome to join us back at the Your Voice office at 12 Clyde Square for a free cuppa and a chat.

Wednesday Health Walks at Group 1: 10.30-11.30 

These walks take place every Wednesday morning. Walkers meet outside Gourock train station, near the snack van (or inside near the bike stands if very wet).  Gentle walks of 1 hour (can be shorter for those who require a shorter walk/gentler pace).  Led by volunteer walk leaders, health Walks are inclusive, relaxed walks, on mainly flat routes with places to rest. Open to all and designed to help you stay active.  

On this route we usually have 3 separate groups each week:

  • Stroll – our beginner’s group where we walk slowly and take regular breaks.  Many of the walkers in this group have sticks and we walk for anything from 15 minutes – 50 minutes (with stops to rest and catch our breath).
  • Stride – our standard pace walk.  1 hour usually on flat routes.
  • Super stride – for those who wish a more active route we do 1 hour but include some inclines (such as Bath Street and Gourock Park). 

Once a month we have a social get together after the walk (11.30-12.30) in St Johns Church hall. All walkers are invited to join us post walk for a cuppa, cake and a chat.

Buggy Walk - WEDNESDAY 12NOON


This group meets every Wednesday at 12 midday outside the Espalande Café and open to anyone with a baby/toddler in a buggy (parents/carers etc).  We walk for about 1 hour and then head to the I zone or another local café for a cuppa afterwards.  Please call Jenni to book a place before attending for the first time.  Jenni.murray@cycling.uk.org or 07342 082 882.


Wednesday Health Walk 7.00 - 8.00pm (from RWSABC, the Esplanade, Greenock)

This walk takes place every Wednesday evening. Walkers meet outside the Boat Club from 6.50pm and the walk starts 7.00pm.  A gentle walk of 1 hour (can be shorter for those who require a shorter walk/gentler pace). Led by our trained volunteer Walk Leaders, health Walks are inclusive, relaxed walks. Open to all and designed to help you get active.  Walkers are welcome to join the volunteers after the walk for a free cuppa in the boat club.

Thursday Health Walk Port Glasgow Health Centre

This walk takes place every Thursday afternoon. Walkers meet outside the Health Centre from 12.50pm. Walk begins at 1pm and ends at 2pm. A gentle walk of 1 hour (can be shorter for those who require a shorter walk/gentler pace).  Led by our trained volunteer Walk Leaders.

After the walk at 2pm, everyone is welcome to join us at 7 ½ John Wood Street for a free cuppa and a chat.

Friday Health Walk 11-12 (Belville Community Gardens, 53-57 Belville Street, Greenock)

This walk takes place every Friday morning. Walkers meet outside Belville Community Gardens office from 10.45pm. Walk begins at 11am and ends at 12pm. A gentle walk of 1 hour (can be shorter for those who require a shorter walk/gentler pace). Led by our trained volunteer Walk Leaders. 

Health Walks are inclusive, relaxed walks.  Open to all and designed to help you stay active.

Walkers can also stay for the community soup and a blether lunch provided by Belville Community Gardens (payment by donation) and pre-bookable a week in advance or by email to Belville: admin@belvillecommunitygarden.org.uk
